Senior Session 4 minutes from Yellowstone
What happens when you spend the summer before your senior year working 4 minutes away from Yellowstone National Park’s East Gate?
You get iconic Senior Photos… Duh.

Ethan’s mom reached out to me a couple months before this session asking if I could take photos of her son while he was in Wyoming. We found a date that worked for me and Ethan and got it booked!
While he was working at Pahaska Tepee, he got to know the area and found a spot on the river he really enjoyed. Naturally that was our first stop!

We were experiencing some intense smoke coming down from Canada at the time. Sometimes I will ask clients if they would prefer to reschedule sessions if I think the smoke will really affect the outcome of images. With Ethan’s schedule and the need to return back to school, we kept the session as is!
My approach was to make sure we got some classic images without the smoke being super apparent and then leaning into it, because it was his experience after all.
One of the unique parts of our area is that a church based in Cody, Wyoming has an outdoor chapel in that area. I offered it as a backdrop in case that was something that Ethan would like and he did want to take advantage of it! The Chapel is gorgeous and the area around it has some great views of the Northfork of the Shoshone River.
I grew up in Cody, Wyoming so I am familiar with a lot of the really beautiful options that the Northfork Highway has to offer. It was a joy to take Ethan to one of these spots and also get an opportunity to see a spot he got to discover during his time here!
