Frequently asked questions.

How do I book a session?

The first step to booking a session in inquiring via this website. This is a zero stakes step that allows us to get into contact. You can see what the inquiry for looks like here. If you have any questions about what happens after you have submitted the inquiry, you can read my blog post linked below!

What now?

How do you ensure our photographs are safe?

  • Every session is shot on 2 memory cards simultaneously in my camera.

  • Those images are saved to a “mirrored hard drive” set up, that saves two copies of those images on separate hard drives to protect from hard drive failure.

  • The original files are kept on one of the two memory cards until the gallery is sent to you.

  • The gallery sent to you also houses another copy of your images in the cloud, to protect your images from any unfortunate event that could possibly take out all of my equipment.

I have written a more detailed blog post about my process linked here.

How long does it take to receive our images?

After the session, I will immediately start importing your images to my hard drives to keep them safe. You will receive sneak peeks within a week of your session and your entire gallery within a month of your session.

Wedding images may take up to two months for an entire gallery.

How do we access our images?

Once you receive your gallery, I want to make sure it is as easy as possible for you to navigate the gallery. Here is my blog post that has ALL the details you will need to access, view, and download your images!

How to Access Your Images

When is the best time to book my session?

I prefer two times to schedule photo sessions. They are commonly known as “golden hour” and “blue hour”.

  • “Golden Hour”: One hour after sunrise and one hour before sunset

  • “Blue Hour”: 30 minutes before sunrise and 30 minutes after sunset

Unless specified, I will generally schedule a session to include 10-15 minutes of blue hour and 45-50 minutes of golden hour.

Whether or not we schedule your session for the morning or evening greatly depends on your preference and the location we pick. I always take into account the location and any surrounding mountains, as well which direction I need the light to come from for that location.

How do I pick a location for my photo shoot?

While this is one of the most common questions I encounter, this happens to be my favorite things to design for our sessions. We will work together to understand your goals for the session and find a location that enhances your and completes the story we are telling. You can find a few of my favorite locations in this blog below!

How do I pick out my outfit for my session?

  • Stay away from large logos.

  • Wear clothes that will make you feel confident.

  • Try to avoid clothes that will hide your figure.

  • Avoid multiple different patterns. Here are examples of ways to incorporate pattern.

    • Couples: one person in a pattern while the other is in a solid color.

    • Families: any littles that you will likely be holding in a pattern while you are in a solid color.

What is your cancelation and reschedule policy?

My cancelation and reschedule policy is listed in my contract. With that being said, please understand the entire contract is meant to protect you as a consumer and me as a business owner. I am always willing to listen with an open mind and a kind heart. I understand things happen and am always willing to come to an informed and agreed upon decision with you.

In an effort to protect my business from the rare opportunity of a poor situation, this is the policy listed in my contract:

  • If the customer wishes to reschedule or cancel a photo session they must communicate that with me as soon as possible.

  • I am not obligated to attempt to fill the void in my schedule due to your no-show, cancelation, or reschedule and I will not be obligated to refund any monies collected. The customer is also not excused from any payments agreed upon in the contract.

  • If I can fill this vacancy created by the cancelation or reschedule, it is up to my discretion to excuse any payments that were agreed upon.

Cancelation or Reschedule due to Weather or other Acts of God

Weather is a very real factor. While I usually can work around the weather and we don’t usually need to reschedule, it can happen. I will always communicate clearly and early so we can come to an agreement. I will never cancel a session with you, but will rather suggest a rescheduled time that would be safer for us to do our session. My contract lists the following procedure for situations such as this.

  • If I am requesting a reschedule due to weather, I must give notice to client via the notice provisions detailed in this agreement; and

  • Issue a refund or credit based on a reasonably accurate percentage of services rendered; and

  • Excuse Client of any further performance and/or payment obligations in this agreement.

The cancelation policy listed at the beginning of this section will be followed unless you or I experience any act of God that is out of our control.

When do I have to submit payment?

Payment isn’t required until you want to reserve a date for your session.

Once you inquire, we will go through a consultation via phone call or video chat. After that consultation, you can chose to reserve a date using a document I will send you during the consultation. This will confirm the date of your session, include a contract for the shoot, and an invoice for your retainer payment that holds your date in my schedule.

The retainer will be 50% of the total investment for the session.

Are you insured and legally legit?

I have been registered with the State of Wyoming since May 14th of 2022. I collect and report sales tax appropriately and have insurance for my equipment and business as a whole.
